"One of the early comedies of Shakespeare, *A Midsummer Night's Dream* can be suitably called as a 'wedding play', as it presents an atmosphere of wedding celebration.

There is a complex interlocking of plots as the play features the adventures of two young Athenian couples who come to the woods as a part of their plan to elope from their houses.

Rich with supernatural elements and creative imagination, the play gives lyrical expressions to themes like love, dream, and blessings of nature on mankind - all in a lighter vein.

""One of the early comedies of Shakespear, this play, A Midsummer Night's dream can be suitably called as a 'wedding play' , since by presenting an atmosphere of wedding celebration, it was by itself meant to be a light entertainment to celebrate marriage.

There is a complex interlocking of plots as the play features the adventures of two young Athenian couples who come to the woods as a part of their plan to elope from their houses. This moonlit forest is being inhabited by the King and Queen of the fairies, Oberon and Titania. The lovers are blessed and enchanted by the fairies who have been watching their interactions. Meanwhile Bottom, a stage actor stumbles upon the lovers with his play band to rehearse a play based on the myth of Pyramus and Thisbe, to be performed at the wedding of Theseus, the Duke of Athens and Hippolyta, the Queen of Amazons. Soon Theseus and Hippolyta too arrive at the forest and wake up the lovers from their sleep. They arrange for a group wedding. The play ends with the amateur actors performing the play at the wedding.

Rich with supernatural elements and creative imagination, the play gives lyrical expressions to themes like love, dream, and blessings of Nature on mankind- all in a lighter vein."
